Welcome to the 68th edition of The Pixel Project’s VAW e-News Digest!
A revolutionary campaign against domestic violence is being launched in India. Featuring the Hindu goddesses Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati, the images are photographs of real women in typical serene yet powerful poses. But each goddess bears the scars of physical violence -a graze, black eye, a fat lip and cuts.
The first European female genital mutilation clinic opened in Berlin, Germany. The Desert Flower Centre will offer both surgical and psychological care for those who have had the procedure.
