1 JUNE 2012: The Pixel Project is proud to present the first annual “30 For 30” Father’s Day campaign – a marathon blogging campaign that gets 30 fathers from around the world to participate in a short interview comprising 3 questions about the joys of being a Dad and how Dads can help prevent and stop violence against women in positive ways. The campaign runs from 1 – 30 June 2012. The 30 completed interviews will be published throughout the campaign at the rate of one interview per day on The Pixel Project’s blog.

The “30 For 30” campaign is created to acknowledge the vital role Dads play in families, cultures and communities worldwide. In line with The Pixel Project’s work, the campaign is designed as a positive online platform to provide men who are fabulous non-violent male role models with a space to publicly share their ideas, thoughts and feelings about how Dads can actively help prevent and stop violence against women.

This year, participating fathers come from 11 countries – Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Czech Republic, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. They hail from different walks of life and their ranks include academics, business owners, corporate managers, entertainment professionals, entrepreneurs, journalists, military personnel, non-profit managers, photographers, teachers, technology specialists and retirees.

Regina Yau, Founder and President of The Pixel Project, said: “We are pleased to see so many excellent Dads across the world supporting this campaign. These men prove that any man can become a father but it takes a truly good man to take on the awesome responsibility of being a Dad who is a positive non-violent male role model for the young people he raises and mentors. Collectively, they make a strong case for men and boys worldwide to support the movement to stop violence against women. While this year’s line-up of Dads is not as diverse as some may wish it to be, we see it as a good foundation to build on and hope that in the years to come, all continents, countries, and ethnicities would be represented.”

Throughout the campaign, The Pixel Project also encourages supporters worldwide to help them raise US$3000 or more by donating US$30 on behalf of their Dad to the Celebrity Male Role Model Pixel Reveal campaign to help unveil The Pixel Project’s first superstar Celebrity Male Role Model – a beloved Nobel Laureate. US$30 will unveil 30 pixels and proceeds from the pixel sales are in benefit of the USA’s National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Malaysia’s Women’s Aid Organisation.
