JULY 23rd, 2026 (WORLDWIDE): The Pixel Project, a 501(c)3 anti-Violence Against Women non-profit, will be holding the twelfth annual Fall Edition of their Read For Pixels YouTube Livestream series. Read For Pixels 2026 (Fall Edition) features YouTube livestream sessions with award-winning bestselling authors in support of The Pixel Project’s work to stop Violence Against Women (VAW). Read For Pixels 2026 (Fall Edition) YouTube livestream sessions will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from September 4th to September 30th 2026 and present two types of livestream events.
The first type will be the Read For Pixels reading+Q&A session series with brand-new Read For Pixels authors. Each session will feature an author reading from one of their books and discussing women and girls in their books, why they support ending violence against women, and women in the media as well as geek and popular culture. Each session will also include a live moderated Q&A session for fans and book lovers to ask their favourite authors questions in real time. Acclaimed authors who will be participating include Angela Sylvaine, Clay McLeod Chapman, Eliza Chan, Keith Rosson, Rachel Howzell Hall, Sara Read, Susan Elia MacNeal, and Tamika Thompson.
The second type will be livestream panel sessions featuring a mix of Read For Pixels author alumni and new Read For Pixels authors. There will be 3 panel sessions. Each panel will feature two to three authors who are at the forefront of their genre discussing how the genre’s books, stories, and community have changed over the past decade in terms of attitudes and approaches towards sexism, misogyny, and violence against women. Distinguished authors and poets who will be participating include Grace R. Reynolds, Kendare Blake, Lauren Elise Daniels, Mercedes M. Yardley, Milton J. Davis, Padma Venkatraman, Romina Garber, Sylvain Neuvel, and Zig Zag Claybourne.
Participating authors have also generously donated a range of exclusive goodies to help The Pixel Project encourage fans and book lovers to donate to the Read For Pixels campaign including: author-curated goodie bundles, signed first editions, book bundles, 1-to-1 and book club video calls, written critiques, bespoke poems, and more. Additional goodies are courtesy of publishers including Dzanc Books and Subterranean Press as well as award-winning bestselling authors Juliette Wade, Linda D. Addison, Kelsea Yu, Kit Rosewater, Marisca Pichette, Pintip Dunn, Sara Tantlinger, and Taylor Jenkins Reid. Donations begin at as little as US$5 and the goodies are available to donors as “thank you” gifts and perks depending on the donation amount. Fundraising will take place in tandem with the YouTube livestream series over the month of September.
