Melanie from SkarsgårdNews.com shares her personal experience working with Alexander Skarsgard and tells us why he is such a great role model.
Alexander Skarsgård’s reputation precedes him. He is well known as a sweet, kind and very down to earth individual, not just with his coworkers, family and friends, but with complete strangers. His relationship with fans is a respected one, but above all, when he isn’t playing a 1,000 year old Viking vampire, he is well known in his native Sweden, and now here in the U.S., for lending his voice (and even the favorite shirt off his back) to charity.
My staff and I, as well as other fan sites, have had the pleasure of working with him on several occasions with charity projects.
Alexander is an egalitarian whose main charity is the world renowned and highly respected “Amnesty International” where he passionately supports their humanitarian efforts. He has protested and signed petitions against the massacres in Gaza, shown his support for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), and lent his name to support the victims of the recent Haitian and Chilean earthquakes.
Alex, coming from a large family, naturally supports children’s rights and has been involved with BRIS’ Barnens Rätt i Samhället (Children’s Rights in Society), in his native Sweden, an organization that defends children’s value and importance in society and encourages them to speak and share their opinions.
He has also shown his avid support for the environment and is an ambassador for Earth Hour Sweden. He has also posed for the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s “Tails for Whales” campaign.
He is currently working with AlexSkarsgård.net in their efforts to help raise money for children who can no longer live with their biological families through the charity SOS Children’s Villages and will soon be helping me raise money for Amnesty International with a charity auction through my site, SkarsgårdNews.com.
I could go on, but I won’t. I think it’s obvious that Alex would be a terrific candidate to help with the Pixel Project, and with your support, we can see this done.
